Caryn “ren” Hsu, AMFT
Caryn Hsu is supervised by Richard Achiro (PSY#29444).
Ren is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #147299) with an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from USC, currently earning a Ph.D. in Systems, Families, and Couples at Loma Linda University. Originally from New York, Ren is a Taiwanese-American child of immigrants, passionate about providing culturally respectful trauma informed psychotherapy. She aims to create a safe, welcoming space for self-discovery and integration.
Ren's therapeutic approach is relationally and psychodynamic/analytically oriented; meaning, the process of healing includes examining emotional and psychological conflicts, understanding their origins, and building resilience to face life's challenges.
Ren works with a diverse population, including adolescents, families, and couples. She specializes in identity formation, intergenerational trauma, immigration and acculturation issues, family dynamics, racial and ethnic discrimination, academic and career pressure, chronic health conditions and neurodivergence.
Ren speaks Mandarin and is trained in EMDR, as well as crisis intervention for domestic abuse and sexual assault. She has experience working in various clinical settings and is dedicated to continuous learning and professional development.
